About the Role

Mater Health Services is seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Perinatal Psychology Lead. In this role, you will provide high-level expertise in the assessment and treatment of perinatal women accessing our service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently undertake clinical practice within established clinical protocols to achieve patient-focused outcomes
  • Provide sound clinical judgement to more complex cases referred to the Perinatal Psychology team
  • Provide delegation, supervision, training and support to less experienced health practitioners, students, support staff and volunteers in the delivery of clinical services
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within professional and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure key performance indicators are achieved within agreed timeframes
  • Identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes
  • Actively participate in translating research into practice
  • Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies to facilitate patient-centred care
  • Participate in continuing professional development activities to further develop clinical practice and expertise
  • Contribute to the learning and development of the team through clinical education and clinical supervision

Requirements

  • General registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) / Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Clinical or Educational & Developmental Psychology
  • Working towards or attained PsyBA approved supervisor
  • Working towards or attained PsyBA area of practice endorsement in Clinical or Educational & Developmental Psychology

About You

We are seeking someone who is/has the following essential qualifications:

Experience in provision of Psychology services, ideally in a perinatal mental health setting

Demonstrated clinical practice and application of clinical judgement in the provision of high quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care

Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with professional and multi-disciplinary teams, patients and carers to achieve optimal outcomes

Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire skills to identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities that improve clinical services and patient outcomes and/or research
