Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive perinatal and infant mental health assessment and ensure mothers, babies, and families receive consistent coordinated care that addresses their psychological, emotional, physical, functional, and sensory needs.
- Take a lead role in developing and facilitating group therapy programs.
- Provide advice and assistance in the development of effective interventions for consumers experiencing perinatal mental health conditions.
- Provide ongoing assessment to monitor and review the effectiveness of intervention strategies implemented.
- Liaise with various specialists and attend psychosocial meetings.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish a network of referral options and information for consumers with perinatal and infant mental health concerns.
- Facilitate access to mental health services for mothers and babies with perinatal and infant mental health needs or ensure other adequate follow-up is arranged for their ongoing care upon discharge.
- In conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, contribute to the integration and evaluation of strategic direction and priorities for quality improvement and research within Catherine's House.
- Act to enhance the professional development of self and others.
- Provision of clinical supervision.
- Demonstrate active involvement in meeting the clinical unit's and organisational goals.
- Act as a change agent for the integration of new concepts into clinical practice.
- Model a stewardship approach to the organisation and its resources.
- Positively influence others to identify and act in accordance with clinical and organisational best practices.
- Ensure delegated portfolio responsibilities are achieved within agreed timeframes.
- Ensure key performance indicators are achieved within agreed timeframes and resources.
- In conjunction with the leadership group including NUM, Psychiatrists, and other HP4 team members, contribute to the integration and evaluation of strategic direction.
- General Registration via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to professional development and quality improvement and/or clinical research.
- Experience of working in an acute mental health inpatient unit desirable.
- Perinatal Mental Health experience is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to provide an advanced level of skilled clinical assessment and interventions, preferably to perinatal patients and/or ideally within an acute mental health inpatient unit.
- Demonstrates a high level of knowledge and clinical skills as recognised by clinical experience, professional development activities, postgraduate education, or formal qualifications.
- Demonstration of advanced clinical practice and application of clinical judgement in the provision of high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care, preferably to perinatal patients and/or within an acute mental health inpatient setting.
- Proven experience and ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, establish priorities, exercise initiative, and deliver outputs within agreed timeframes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability and experience in establishing and developing key relationships with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in or willingness to gain experience in clinical research.
- Applies clinical evidence that supports continuous improvement of local service delivery.
- Demonstrates a broad understanding of the continuum of care and the organisational provision of multidisciplinary health service.
