Role Overview:

  • Provide high-quality mental health nursing care to individuals experiencing severe and complex mental health concerns
  • Support clients in a community-based setting to provide holistic and coordinated care
  • Develop and review client care and treatment plans to effectively support and monitor wellbeing and treatment goals
  • Provide brief psychosocial interventions for clients
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members to support clients with their health and wellbeing goals
  • Support the establishment and connection with additional health and mental health professionals, as required
  • Advocate and support clients' health and wellbeing in collaboration with their treating health professionals
  • Provide holistic, wrap-around support and education across all aspects of a client's health and wellbeing

Requirements:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual practicing certificate
  • Current credentialing as a Mental Health Nurse through the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses
  • Extensive experience working in mental health settings and managing clients with severe and persistent mental health conditions and complex needs
  • Highly developed communication (including written) and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to engage people who are hard to reach and advocate on their behalf
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, clients, carers, and stakeholders
  • Ability to use a desktop computer, with familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and capacity to learn how to use a new clinical software package
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
  • Current Driver's License
