Reconciliation Officer Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing bank reconciliations and related activities for assigned bank accounts. This includes investigating daily exceptions, ensuring reconciliations are completed within service level agreements (SLAs), mitigating risks, and adhering to audit controls and processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing system and Excel-based reconciliations as per SLAs
  • Establishing and maintaining documented process/procedure manuals of all processes within the reconciliations function
  • Managing internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Providing accurate and timely daily, weekly, and monthly reporting
  • Ensuring all daily reconciling items and aged outstanding items are investigated and cleared
  • Identifying and escalating areas of risk or problems to Line Manager and/or Team Leader as deemed appropriate
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • An Accounting/Business degree
  • Experience in a high-volume reconciliation and service delivery environment (desirable)
  • Understanding of accounting concepts and principles
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge, especially Excel (Pivot Tables, V lookups, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and time management skills
  • Effective stakeholder management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed
