Electricity Market Solutions Director

We are seeking a Senior Leader to spearhead the development and implementation of Wholesale Electricity Market solutions, ensuring high availability, security, and stability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- System Reliability and Security
- Ensuring all IT systems and applications operate within agreed service level agreements, highly available, secure, and stable
- Process Efficiency and Scalability
- Driving the creation and establishment of efficient 'ways of working' to ensure cost-effective, efficient, and scalable delivery
- Strategic Leadership and Change Management
- Assisting senior-level management and key stakeholders to drive change, promote cross-departmental activities, and champion corporate roll-outs/programs
- Operational Expertise and Strategic Advice
- Providing strategic advice and direction to management on AEMO's Technology functions covering operational matters, strategies, and efficiencies
- Applications Environment Management
- Managing the applications environment, framework, tools, and processes for systems managed by the team
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven Leadership Experience
- Significant experience in technology team leadership managing multiple large cross-functional operational teams or projects
- Industry Expertise and Knowledge
- Strong experience in the energy industry or similarly highly regulated industry with fit-for-purpose information technology and data management
- Market Operations and Compliance
- Good knowledge of the practices and principles associated with the operation of gas and electricity markets within Australia and internationally
- Negotiation and Stakeholder Management
- Ability to strategically negotiate with and manage key third-party outsourced providers and garner their respect
- Technology Solutions Development
- Strong experience in developing applications solutions to achieve desired business outcomes
- Team Leadership and Transformation
- Experience in leading high-performing technology teams and transforming ways of working to align with product-based team models
Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.
