Job Overview

As a seasoned legal expert, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's employment and industrial relations landscape.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of employment law, industrial relations, and compliance matters, with a proven track record of providing strategic advice and representation in litigation and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on employment and industrial relations matters, including litigation, industrial instrument interpretation, disciplinary matters, and disputes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industrial instruments.
  • Support the internal implementation of new employment and industrial relations legislation, ensuring seamless integration into organizational practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years post-admission experience as a qualified lawyer (in-house and/or private practice).
  • Strong knowledge of employment and industrial relations law, including operation of awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Demonstrable understanding of legal principles and judicial procedures.
  • Proven experience in commercial negotiations and providing strategic legal advice.
  • Commercial mindset with experience in change management.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Experience with payroll systems and compliance, preferably including Kronos.
