
In-House Employment Law Specialist

This high-impact position offers a unique opportunity to work in a complex, dynamic environment that requires strategic legal advice on workplace relations and employment law.
The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on unfair dismissal, discrimination claims, misconduct investigations, employment contracts, and workplace health and safety.
In this pivotal role, you will also manage significant litigation and disputes across state and federal jurisdictions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic legal advice on employment law and workplace relations.
- Managing complex litigation and disputes.
- Advising on dispute resolution strategies.
- Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers.
- Providing advice on administrative law, policy development, governance, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in Queensland (or eligible for admission).
- At least 7+ years' post-admission experience with strong expertise in workplace relations, employment law, industrial relations, and litigation.
- Experience advising on sensitive employment and dispute matters in complex organisations, statutory bodies, or government environments.
- Excellent advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence and communicate effectively.
