Job Opportunity: Training and Competency Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Training and Competency Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with senior management, supervisors, and subject matter experts to identify training needs and objectives.

The role involves developing and maintaining training packages, including presentations, manuals, and online resources. Additionally, you will design and implement training programs tailored to meet company goals and employee development needs.

To ensure the success of this role, the ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of safety principles and best practices. Previous experience in a similar industry will be highly regarded.

  • This role requires a strong understanding of high-risk activities in manufacturing, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A Trade Certificate in Engineering (Fabrication/Mechanical Fitting) or equivalent qualification would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Senior Management, Supervisors, HR Lead, HSEQ Lead and subject matter experts to identify training needs and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain training packages, including presentations, manuals, and on-line resources.
  • Design and implement training programs tailored to meet company goals and employee development needs.
  • Ensure training content is relevant and complies with legislation and best practices.
  • Liaise with external training providers.
  • Assist workers with directions/requirements of Recognition of Prior learning.
  • Plan and schedule training sessions. Includes booking venues, gathering materials/equipment or travel arrangements as required.
  • Investigate and report upcoming training requirements including expiring certifications.
  • Maintain Training Register and Training Agreements.
  • Develop and manage internal verification of competency training.
  • Assistance with development of training procedures and work instructions.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • TAE40122 Cert IV in Training and Assessment as a minimum (essential for this role).
  • Trade Certificate in Engineering (Fabrication/Mechanical Fitting) an advantage.
