Upper GI Surgery - Post-Graduate Fellowship

The successful candidate will work closely with senior medical staff, managing and supporting registrars in surgical specialty departments. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of upper GI surgery procedures, including oesophagogastric, HPB, bariatric, and advanced laparoscopic surgeries. Robotic surgery opportunities are also available, allowing for enhanced skill development and clinical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support registrars in surgical specialty departments, fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Participate in surgical skill courses and opportunities for clinical and basic research, driving innovation and excellence in patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate personal integrity and commitment to the philosophy, mission, and values of healthcare.
  • Hold registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or be eligible for registration.
  • Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in General Surgery or equivalent.
  • Exhibit evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices, ensuring ongoing professional growth.
  • Display sound clinical knowledge in Upper GI Surgery, participating in quality assurance activities.
  • Demonstrate high-level interpersonal and communication skills, working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commit to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff, promoting knowledge sharing and mentorship.
  • Conduct professional behavior suitable for a senior medical practitioner, upholding the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
