Upper GI Surgery Fellowship

The position is a part-time opportunity to gain experience in upper GI surgery. The successful candidate will work with the Director Medical Services and the Director of Surgical Training to manage, support, and coordinate registrars in surgical specialty departments. They will also participate in surgical skill courses and opportunities for clinical and basic research.

  • This role is ideal for a surgical fellow/general surgeon looking to expand their skills in upper GI surgery.
Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with senior medical staff to develop and implement quality assurance initiatives.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and education to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and provide guidance on best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Sound clinical knowledge in upper GI surgery with participation in quality assurance activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
