About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Practitioner to join our team at Cerebral Palsy Alliance in Wallsend, NSW. As a key member of our support team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalized support in a group home setting, assisting clients with daily living activities, personal care, and medication administration.
  • Support clients to make informed choices and develop skills for independence, promoting their autonomy and dignity.
  • Encourage clients to engage in their community, fostering social connections and a sense of belonging.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, their families, and other stakeholders, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Transport clients, using our minivan, as required.
Requirements
  • Live locally to the Wallsend area.
  • Prior experience in disability support or a related field is highly regarded.
  • A current NSW Driver's License (P2 minimum) is required.

Training and Development

We invest in our staff's growth and development, offering comprehensive training and support. This includes:

  • Buddy shifts with experienced Disability Support Workers.
  • Opportunities to complete nationally recognized qualifications, such as Certificate III in Individual Support and/or Certificate IV in Disability.
  • A $5,000 training investment in your first year.
