Defence Security Manager

This is a high-level leadership position that oversees the development and implementation of defence security strategies, policies, and compliance measures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a defence or defence industry environment, with a strong understanding of defence project environments, security frameworks, and information governance.
The successful applicant will lead cross-functional security initiatives, manage physical, personnel, ICT, and information security, and oversee protective security, export controls, and facilities management. They will also interface with defence agencies, support bids and project execution from a security standpoint, coordinate internal security training and audits, and maintain security documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement defence security strategies, policies, and compliance measures under relevant defence standards.
- Manage all security governance activities, including risk assessments, security training, and audit coordination.
- Maintain and secure classified zones, facilities, and networks, ensuring compliance with relevant defence regulations.
- Oversee ITAR/export control compliance and security risk assessments, ensuring the protection of sensitive information.
- Interface with defence agencies on clearances, visitor access, travel, and facility security, ensuring seamless collaboration.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in a defence or defence industry environment, with a strong understanding of defence project environments, security frameworks, and information governance.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional security initiatives, manage complex security projects, and ensure compliance with relevant defence regulations.
- Strong understanding of ITAR, export controls, and classified material handling, with the ability to develop and implement effective security protocols.
- NV1 clearance, and willingness to upgrade to NV2 if required, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining high levels of security and integrity.
