About the Role
This is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing organisational defence and security frameworks.
Key Responsibilities include developing, implementing and maintaining effective defence strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and managing all aspects of physical and information security.
- Develop and implement the organisation's defence strategy, policies and procedures in accordance with DISP and ISM guidelines.
- Manage all aspects of security governance, including personnel, ICT, information and physical security.
- Maintain secure classified zones, facilities and networks through collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with ITAR/export control requirements, conduct security risk assessments and oversee secure material handling.
- Interface with defence agencies on clearance, visitor access, travel and facility security matters.
- Support bid development and project execution from a security standpoint.
- Coordinate internal security training, audits and maintain security documentation.
- Oversee facility maintenance and infrastructure changes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a defence or defence industry environment.
- In-depth knowledge of defence project environments, security frameworks and DISP regulations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional security initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- NV1 clearance and willingness to upgrade to NV2 if required.
- Technical background or tertiary qualifications highly regarded.
