General Manager Cargo Airfreight

The role of the General Manager is pivotal in driving business success, ensuring profitability, growth, and efficiency targets are met. This strategic leader will develop a comprehensive plan that showcases the company's unique value proposition to both existing and potential clients.

Key Areas of Accountability:
  • Implement a strategy for growth in new business and establish an operations environment that delivers service within agreed parameters.
  • Identify, research, and implement alternate means of delivery to enhance the service proposition's cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and execute strategic projects, including IT systems and rationalization initiatives, to drive business improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director to develop long-term plans and annual budgets, monitor progress, ensure adherence, and evaluate performance.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of specialists, ensuring customer interactions align with established procedures and service standards.
  • Ensure seamless transaction processing from start to finish.
  • Identify and implement standards and targets reflecting business priorities.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Align business priorities with customer service expectations.
Requirements:
  • 10 years of management experience in building and executing strategies within the aviation or freight forwarding sector.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to nurture effective relationships with key stakeholders and business influencers.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to engage employees in company-wide priorities.
