
Strategic Human Resources Leader

The HR Manager will oversee the entire spectrum of human resources functions across a multifaceted business environment.
- Responsibilities include recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, payroll advisory, injury management, and workforce planning.
- Prepare and issue Letters of Offer and Employment Contracts/IFAs, ensuring approvals and compliance.
- Coordinate advertising, shortlisting, and candidate screening.
- Manage staff mobilisation processes, including medicals and compliance documentation.
- Facilitate apprentice onboarding and trade qualification pathways.
- Provide expert support to managers on all ER matters, including performance conversations and disciplinary actions.
- Draft and issue formal documentation such as warning letters and performance plans.
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee files and records.
- Monitor workplace culture and support leadership in proactive engagement initiatives.
- Schedule and manage essential training, such as CPR/LVR.
- Maintain the capability matrix to ensure visibility of skills gaps and compliance.
- Coordinate the development and execution of annual training plans.
- Act as the key HR liaison to payroll, supporting fortnightly processing and reimbursements.
- Monitor compliance in rostering practices across departments.
- Provide advice on employee entitlements, award interpretation, and remuneration matters.
- Upload payroll data and ensure integration with HR reporting frameworks.
- Collaborate with department leaders to forecast workforce needs and support resourcing strategies.
- Contribute to breakeven point analysis and staff utilisation reporting.
- Track key workforce metrics, turnover, and trends to provide insight for strategic planning.
- Oversee WorkCover compliance, including annual renewals and claims management.
- Manage injury reporting and liaise with external providers to coordinate rehabilitation and return-to-work plans.
- Maintain documentation and ensure workplace procedures support employee health and recovery.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are up to date with legislative and operational requirements.
- Manage incident reporting, misconduct investigations, and compliance documentation.
- Continually improve internal processes to support operational efficiency and HR best practice.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline is required.
Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in WHS, Injury Management, or Training & Assessment are desirable.
AHRI membership or equivalent professional affiliation is preferred, but not mandatory.
Proven experience in an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor role within manufacturing, rental, or project-based industries is essential.
Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, payroll interface, injury management, and compliance is crucial.
Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation, WorkCover regulations, and return-to-work programs is necessary.
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems is highly regarded.
Proficient in workforce planning, data analysis, and HR reporting tools is required.
High emotional intelligence with the ability to coach and influence across all levels of the business is essential.
Strong time management, with the ability to balance strategic focus and operational execution, is vital.
