The Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) is an independent statutory body that plays a central part in maintaining the integrity of the NSW health system, with the overarching consideration of protecting the health and safety of individuals and the community.

Our Team

We are seeking an experienced Risk Management Specialist to join our Assessments Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a specialist assessment team and providing sound advice and direction to ensure consistent risk-based decisions.

About the Role

This role has a central role in leading and coordinating the end-to-end triaging and assessment of designated categories of complaints with a moderate risk level. You will also be responsible for supporting the assessment of higher risk complaints and drawing on day-to-day complaints experience to contribute to the design and delivery of process improvements.

What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working for a complaints handling entity, regulatory agency or independent oversight/review agency;
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience;
  • Existing Australian work rights;
  • A strong understanding of risk management principles and practices;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
