The ideal candidate will have prior business development experience in the insurance industry, either from a law firm or insurer. You will need exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including experience in delivering strong written tenders and capability documentation. Excellent stakeholder management skills are also essential. A genuine interest in keeping up-to-date with insurance industry trends and the implications for the firm and our key clients is crucial.

This role offers a unique opportunity to step up into a business development manager role, or for an emerging BDM to be mentored and developed by the Head of BD. Working directly with the insurance partners, you will be supporting the provision of timely and reliable business development services to enable effective implementation of the practice groups' strategic plans.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategizing and driving client relationship management activities for key clients, with support from the Head of BD and other BD & Marketing team members
  • Qualifying, producing (drafting and sourcing content), and project managing bids and quotes, including managing pre-bid as well as post-bid submission activities, such as chairing kick-off meetings, conducting tender debriefs, and compliance with the bids processes and systems
  • Capturing and maintaining all relevant matter information for use in bids and capability statements, CVs, website, and legal directory submissions, with support from the Insurance BD Coordinator and communications team members
  • Developing and implementing leading marketing campaigns, extracting maximum value for money for marketing spend
  • Project managing the development and execution of a content marketing strategy
  • Project managing the development and maintenance of a full suite of Insurance marketing materials
  • Working collaboratively with the BD and Marketing & Communications teams, providing assistance and support as needed
