
Child and Youth Mental Health Specialist

This role involves working with children and young people aged 5-18 and their families, delivering community-based mental health care through outreach or local services. You will play a vital part in reducing hospital admissions by providing assertive risk management and early intervention.
The focus is on rapid, developmentally appropriate assessment and person-centred care, tailored to each family's needs. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you'll help shape best practice and ensure care is delivered in the most accessible and effective setting possible.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply professional knowledge and skills in a complex child and youth mental health setting, including evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Work therapeutically with families to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people.
- Develop and implement person-centred care plans that address the unique needs of each family.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.
- Recognised tertiary qualification in psychology, occupational therapy, or social work.
- Current registration with AHPRA (psychology) or eligibility for membership of AASW (social work).
- Demonstrated skills in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and capacity to participate in research projects.
