About the Role

We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join our Child and Adolescent team delivering community-based mental health care to children and young people aged 5–18 and their families.

This role focuses on rapid, developmentally appropriate assessment and person-centred care, tailored to each family's needs. The clinician will work therapeutically with families to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people, reducing hospital admissions through assertive risk management and early intervention.

The ideal candidate will have a recognised tertiary qualification in psychology or occupational therapy, with current registration, and demonstrated skills in evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

They will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to utilise various information systems. Experience working autonomously and as part of an interdisciplinary team is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for children and young people with mental health issues.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver effective care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, schools, and community services to ensure seamless care.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A recognised tertiary qualification in psychology, occupational therapy, or social work.
  • Current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership of AASW.
  • Demonstrated experience working in child and youth mental health settings.
