The position of Staff Specialist offers a unique opportunity to provide medical leadership to the Safeguards Team, which is renowned for delivering innovative, collaborative, and best practice care to children and young people aged 0-17 years experiencing acute mental distress.
- You will work closely with the Team's Clinical Lead to establish strategic partnerships ensuring seamless provision of care for this population and be actively involved in ongoing evaluation and development of the model of care.
- The Safeguards Team is part of the established interdisciplinary Child Youth and Family Mental Health stream, including Child and Youth Mental Health Teams, Whole Family Team, and Perinatal Infant Mental Health Team. The Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Unit is currently being developed and is expected to open soon.
- You will expand the team's services to cater to the Blue Mountains and Lithgow region and participate in a District-wide CYF-MH Consultant after-hours roster.
Successful applicants will possess expertise and experience in delivering high-quality mental health services in a psychiatry setting, demonstrated commitment to person-centered, recovery-oriented, family-inclusive, trauma-informed, and need-adapted principles of care.
