We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Sustainable Business, Marketing & Communications team as a First Nations Community Engagement Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing our reconciliations efforts and delivering on our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) commitments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development of future RAPs with support from our Reconciliation Steering Committee, Reconciliation Advisory Community, leadership team, and RAP Champions.
- Facilitating culturally sensitive presentations to raise awareness and educate on First Nations culture.
- Representing Sandvik at forums and building relationships with community groups.
- Engaging with local communities and stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinating, delivering, and evaluating community sponsored programs, events, and initiatives.
- Developing strong partnerships with local communities.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, communication, and/or community development.
- Effective communication, listening, and presentation skills.
- Relationship building skills and experience working with First Nations communities and organisations.
- Ability to travel to multiple sites within Australia.
