We are seeking an experienced Industry Engagement Leader to join our team at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). As a key member of our International and Business Development Portfolio, you will play a crucial role in building strong relationships with industry partners and driving business development opportunities for QUT.

About the Role

As an Industry Engagement Leader, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of research commercialisation professionals who focus on growing QUT's research capacity in science and engineering. Your team will work closely with internal stakeholders across the university to build collaborative relationships with private and public sectors.

Your primary objective will be to drive the conversion of relationships into significant research funding and investment, resulting in real-world impact. You will also supervise and lead a team of professionals to achieve these goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of research commercialisation professionals to build collaborative relationships with industry partners
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive business development opportunities for QUT
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and communication
  • Establish and maintain long-term industry relationships and commercialisation activities
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline area or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • A proven track record in establishing and maintaining long-term industry relationships and commercialisation activities
  • Demonstrated management of a high-performing team that has established partnerships leading to significant funding and knowledge transfer
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively influence and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders

  • An estimated salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience
