Job Summary:

The National Commercial Manager - Business Development provides commercial support to the BevChain Business Development team and takes a leadership role in supporting Bevchain growth ambitions and strategies through:

  • Commercial Strategy: Supporting the development of Bevchain New Business strategy and related regular planning processes
  • Commercial Analysis: Overseeing commercial modelling and analysis of new business opportunities (where these opportunities are led by the Business Development team)
  • Team Leadership: Leadership and development of commercial team aligned to deliver the Bevchain new business growth strategy
  • Commercial Handover: Develop and deliver clear commercial handover protocols and contractual documentation from Business Development to Operational commercial and finance teams to ensure smooth transition to BAU.

Key Accountabilities:

People:

  • Relationship Building: Create and maintain positive working relationships to develop a team-based culture of co-operation and communication.
  • Commercial Support: Liaises with BevChain Business Development team to provide commercial support to tender responses.
  • Network Development: Build and nurture network of SME's across Bevchain and broader organisation that can provide key commercial support to new business opportunities.

Systems:

  • Financial Modelling: Provide financial modelling and analysis across new and existing work in the BevChain business. This extends to:
  • Commercial Execution: Follow through on commercial items in approved business cases to monitor execution against modelling.

Operations:

  • Site Operations: Develop an excellent understanding of site operations and how they relate to the financial models prepared
  • Teamwork: Actively encourage teamwork through providing effective leadership and communication
  • Proposal Review: Assist Business Development team rate proposals, review for accuracy and completeness prior to submission
  • Contract Renewals: Keep track of existing Bevchain and key competitor contract renewal status to identify renewals and opportunities 12-18 months in advance

Customer:

  • Contract Negotiations: Assist GM Business Development in all contract negotiations and attend customer meetings to provide commercial detail as required
  • Commercial Queries: Work directly with customers to resolve commercial queries on commercial proposals

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated experience working across supply chain/logistics industries, leveraging commercial acumen whilst generating business with new clientele
  • Leadership Experience: Worked in an autonomous role supporting a team of analysts and sales/business development staff to best develop relationships both internally with senior executives and externally, with current and new clients
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting or Finance
  • Industry Experience: Experience working in a supply chain, transport, or logistics sector in a client facing/development role desired
  • Skills: Knowledge and proven skills in: Budgeting, KPI performance review, financial reporting
