The Support Worker position at Challenge Community Services is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities.
As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to clients, focusing on skill development and enriching their lives through engaging activities.
You will work collaboratively with clients to develop skills through activities such as cooking, music, crafts, leisure sports, reading, singing, and more.
This role may also involve providing in-home support for clients, which could require working afternoon and night shifts.
About You- You are confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs.
- You are resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- You are skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
- You are flexible, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
- You hold a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- You are able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
- You have full COVID vaccination status.
- You have experience working with high-needs Disability clients.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent is desirable.
- Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes is desirable.
- Handy craft skills, such as sewing, knitting, or crocheting, are desirable.
- We offer Schad's Award Level 2 pay rates, with a base rate of $33.41 - $36.46 based on experience and qualifications.
- We provide salary packaging options, including an Entertainment/Meal Card, allowing you to use up to $2,650 of your pre-tax income per year (if eligible).
