About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Community Supports Services team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting clients with disabilities, focusing on skill development and enriching their lives through engaging, creative activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing individualized support to clients with disabilities
  • Developing and implementing personalized plans to promote skill development and independence
  • Engaging clients in activities that promote socialization, leisure, and personal growth
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support
  • Providing in-home support for clients, including evening and weekend shifts

About You

We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs
  • Resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities
  • Flexible, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook
  • Holder of a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Able to pass a National Criminal History Check
  • Full COVID vaccination status
  • Experience with high-needs Disability clients
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable)
  • Handy craft skills (sewing, knitting, crocheting) - desirable

  • Schad's Award Level 2 pay rates $33.41 - $36.46 based on experience and qualifications (base rate)
