In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with the Financial Services business unit, led by the Group CFO, to provide financial control function and specialist advice on financial management and strategy.

This dynamic team partners with all areas of the Commonwealth Bank to deliver data-driven analytics and insights that optimize business processes and performance. Your contributions will play a crucial part in driving world-class technology solutions for strategic decision-making.

About the Role

  • Partner with stakeholders across the Financial Services division to ensure reporting data requirements are met and ingested from strategic platforms.
  • Act as the data steward for general ledger data in the Group's data warehouse, working closely with the Chapter Lead Data.
  • Collaborate with the broader finance team to understand how to better support the transition off legacy data.
  • Assess and classify new and existing data assets to determine appropriate data classification levels.
  • Review and approve access requests, maintaining strict access control protocols.
  • Manage and enforce governance policies for financial services data roles, ensuring compliance with data governance standards.
  • Conduct and oversee User Access Reviews (UARs) to ensure proper access management and compliance with data governance policies.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset by challenging the status quo to evolve and improve our services offerings.
  • Drive accountability to ensure consistent, quality, and timely solutions.

We're Interested in Hearing from People Who Value:

  • Experience with general ledger systems and reporting skills, including Flash, journal postings, preparation of month-end packs, and financial control.
  • A detail-oriented approach with documentation using tools like Confluence.
  • Good communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • A comfortable user of SQL for querying and manipulating large data sets.
  • A high-level familiarity with data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Demonstrable curiosity and willingness to continuously learn about both business and technology.
  • Strong business acumen with an analytical mindset.
  • Experience with analytics tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, or similar.
  • A strong understanding of financial services and accounting background.

Estimated Salary Range: AU$90,000 - AU$120,000 per annum
