Pastoral Leadership Opportunity

Sydney Bible-Presbyterian Church seeks a seasoned Pastor to lead our diverse and multicultural congregation in its spiritual growth and development.

The ideal candidate will provide guidance through Biblically-based preaching and teaching during Worship Services, Fellowship Meetings, Camps, Catechism classes, Bible Studies and Prayer Meetings. He will also build up the congregation through home and hospital visits, providing Premarital and Family Counselling, and conducting Marriage and Funeral Services. Additionally, he will oversee all church matters together with the Board of Elders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet all aspects of the Biblical requirements stated in 1Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
  • Full agreement with the constitution of Sydney BP Church, including a personal belief and ability to articulate the doctrines of the Bible - Presbyterian faith
  • Possess at least a Master of Divinity degree from a theological institution with the same biblical and theological persuasion as Sydney Bible-Presbyterian Church
  • An ordained minister, or one who qualifies for ordination in the Bible-Presbyterian Church
  • At least 7 years of full-time working experience in a church in a pastoral and preaching role
  • Ability to minister in English and Mandarin, understand and relate well to all segments of our largely Asian congregation
  • Establish good relations with the Pastors of our affiliated Bible-Presbyterian Churches in Singapore and Australia
  • Experience in working with young people to train and develop them to be future church leaders
  • Biblically guide and supervise the church's activities (outreaches, regular programs, administration, financial)
