Spiritual Care Partner Role

This role involves delivering person-centred, faith-based spiritual support and pastoral care services to clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients through group-based activities in wellness centres, retirement villages, and home and community centres
  • Provide spiritual support and pastoral care services to clients and family members within a trauma-informed care framework and strength-based approach
  • Prepare spiritual celebrations and prayers for special days of remembrance, inclusive of various religious and culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Support teams and client family members access support services to assist with bereavement associated with the loss of a resident or client
  • Facilitate pastoral and spiritual visits and support from ministers of various faith groups

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of Cert IV or Diploma in Pastoral Care, Counselling, Chaplaincy, or similar qualifications in theology or spirituality
  • Strong personal spirituality lived out in the context of a Christian-based community
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith, particularly as it relates to Christian Spirituality, dignity of life, and aged care
  • Commitment to supporting the pastoral/spiritual care needs of the sick and elderly and their family members
