About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Performance and Reward Manager to join our team at Metcash. As a key contributor to our performance and reward strategy, you will play a crucial role in driving business success and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead the annual performance management process, ensuring seamless execution and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Consult with key business and People & Culture team members to identify, develop, and implement policy and process improvements, driving business outcomes and employee satisfaction.
  • Plan and deliver cyclical processes, including annual remuneration review, short-term and long-term incentives, gender pay equity analysis, and reporting, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Undertake and oversee job evaluations and job levelling, assisting with the development of organisational structures and ensuring fair and equitable compensation practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the People & Culture team and leaders across the business on performance and reward matters, including remuneration recommendations and incentive plan administration.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and liaise with external providers to maintain a compelling suite of employee benefits and ensure effective communications across Metcash.
  • Support the Head of Performance & Reward and/or the Chief People & Culture Officer with the preparation of Board/Committee Papers, with supporting data for any proposals.
  • Provide ongoing education and communication of performance and reward policies and processes Metcash-wide, ensuring a culture of transparency and fairness.
  • Undertake data analysis, modelling, and research on performance and reward projects and initiatives, driving business insights and informed decision-making.
Requirements
  • Recognised tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in Business, Finance, or Human Resources.
  • At least 6-8 years' experience working with remuneration fundamentals, including job evaluation, job grading, pay ranges, market data, job matching, benchmarking, remuneration surveys, salary packaging, etc.
  • Job evaluation trained (Hay methodology).
  • Thorough understanding and experience with the components of remuneration, including salary, allowances, Superannuation Guarantee, salary sacrifice superannuation, motor vehicles, incentive payments, FBT, etc.
  • Good understanding of and experience in implementation of STI and sales incentive plans.
  • Strong spreadsheet, data analysis, and data presentation skills.
  • Excellent writing capability and experience.
