Job Description

**Job Title:** Retail Operations Manager

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Operations Manager to join our team at Workforce Australia for Individuals. As a Retail Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our retail store, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our store runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Manage Checkout Staff: Supervise and manage a team of checkout staff, including cashiers and baggers, to ensure that they are providing excellent customer service and that the checkout area is running efficiently.
  • Ensure High-Quality Customer Service: Ensure that customers receive high-quality service at the checkout, resolving any issues or complaints and assisting with difficult transactions.
  • Monitor and Manage Inventory: Monitor and manage inventory of checkout supplies, such as bags, receipt paper, and change, and coordinate orders as needed.
  • Implement Security Procedures: Implement security procedures to prevent theft, monitor for suspicious behavior, and address any security issues that arise.
  • Oversee Checkout Equipment: Oversee the proper functioning of checkout equipment, such as cash registers, scanners, and card readers, and coordinate repairs when necessary.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as legal and regulatory requirements related to checkout operations, including handling of sensitive customer information.
  • Take Inventory and Order Stock: Take inventory of goods for sale and order new stock as needed.
  • Ensure Pricing and Display: Ensure that goods and services are correctly priced and displayed.
  • Communicate with Store Management: Serve as a point of contact between checkout staff and store management, relaying important information and addressing any concerns or feedback from staff.
Requirements:
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, guiding and inspiring the team, leading by example.
  • Customer Service Skills: Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Experience: Previous experience monitoring and training a team of checkout staff, experience with rostering, and experience working in fast-paced environments.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and effective delegation skills.
