The Manager, Investigations plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of child protection in NSW. This exciting opportunity allows individuals to make a real impact and contribute to keeping children safe.
You will be part of our high-performing Reportable Conduct Directorate, a dedicated team that works collaboratively to prevent reportable conduct by employees and ensure investigations are rigorous and timely.
About the Role
The Manager, Investigations is responsible for overseeing investigations by organisations under the Reportable Conduct Scheme, providing strategic expertise, and leading employees within the directorate. You will establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, manage complex and sensitive matters, and lead investigations to optimise outcomes.
This role requires strong critical thinking, confident decision-making, sound judgement, and impeccable time management skills. You will work in a high-volume and high-risk environment where advanced critical thinking is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage highly confidential, complex, and sensitive matters to ensure risks to children are appropriately managed, employees are treated fairly, and investigations are rigorous.
- Lead and support complex investigations and disciplinary complaints to optimise outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the NSW child protection system, the Reportable Conduct Scheme, and best investigative practice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, organisational, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience working at a senior or executive level in a complex organisation delivering specialist and authoritative advice.
