Manager Investigations

The Design and Building Practitioners Integrity Unit is seeking an experienced regulatory professional to undertake the role of Manager Investigations. This position will lead the investigative function in relation to allegations of wrongful conduct under the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 concerning building practitioners, design practitioners, and professional engineers.

About the Role
  • Manage investigations into serious misconduct, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team and carefully leading end-to-end investigations.
  • Provide investigative advice concerning offence provisions that require proof of a particular state of mind and lead complex matters.
  • Review and author coercive notices, understanding the requirements for the lawful issuing of these notices.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of principal and senior investigators and make a significant impact in the regulatory space. The successful candidate will have substantial experience managing investigations, strong leadership skills, and advanced written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead investigations into serious misconduct, ensuring that coercive investigative powers are used appropriately and lawfully.
  • Develop and implement investigation strategies, working closely with other teams and individual technical specialists.
  • Author and review lengthy documents, including investigation reports and briefing notes, to a high standard.
