  • Hybrid work model: 3 days in the office 2 days work from home – Based in Parramatta CBD and Pitt St Sydney CBD

Key responsibilities:As a Senior Investigator at Uniting, you will:
  • Lead end-to-end investigations into reportable conduct, misconduct, and critical incidents.
  • Apply trauma-informed, child-safe, and legally compliant investigation practices.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify risks and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and procedural fairness in all investigations.
  • Provide clear, practical advice and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Support and respond to whistleblower disclosures with integrity and care.
  • Mentor junior investigators and promote best practice standards.
  • Lead safeguarding projects and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Maintain accurate case records and assist with internal and external reporting.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor qualification in a relevant field OR equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience conducting complex investigations (regulatory, criminal, child protection or workplace).
  • Deep knowledge of the NSW Reportable Conduct Scheme and child protection legislation.
  • Expertise in evidence collection, including interviewing children and vulnerable people.
  • The ability to work effectively both collaboratively with a team and independently when required.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills, even in complex or sensitive situations.
  • A solid understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles and risk management practices, ensuring safe and responsible investigative work.
Even better if you have:
  • Postgraduate qualifications in investigation.
  • Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience conducting internal integrity or misconduct investigations.
