About the Role

Ventia is seeking a skilled Chef to join our Defence Base Services contract. Reporting to the Head Chef, this position will see you based at a naval base in Western Australia. In this role, you will support the naval staff with kitchen operations and food service to deliver exceptional customer service to Australian Defence personnel.

This is a fixed-term position with a possible extension to a full-time permanent role. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 06:30am-01:30pm, with no weekends or public holidays.

The payrate for this position is $29.30 per hour.

To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the RAN Catering team in managing the overall preparation and delivery of meal services
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, and barbeques
  • Ensure menu variations, allergen, and religious requirements are followed
  • Ensure all areas of the kitchen are clean, sanitized, well-maintained, and presentable
  • Maintain noticeboards ensuring material is accurate and relevant

Requirements

  • Commercial Cookery qualification
  • Experience managing large commercial kitchens
