Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pricing Strategist to join our team and contribute to the development of sophisticated pricing models that support both wholesale and retail strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, with experience in data-driven decision-making and a passion for energy markets. They will be responsible for managing and maintaining relevant pricing models, ensuring accurate and timely transfer prices, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver optimal customer pricing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and maintain pricing models to ensure accurate and timely transfer prices
  2. Collaborate with trading functions and customer promise to ensure model inputs are updated and producing accurate pricing outputs
  3. Develop reports and analysis to optimize customer pricing processes
  4. Back-test core pricing models and recommend changes if accuracy is impacted
  5. Create scenario models, analysis, reporting, and advice on costs, margins, wholesale shape premiums, etc.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a numerate discipline (e.g., Science, Maths, Finance, Economics, IT, or Engineering)
  • Minimum 1-2 years in a commercial analytical environment
  • Significant experience in wholesale energy pricing or wholesale markets - minimum 3 years
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, and Tableau for data analysis and reporting
  • Hands-on modelling experience and a track record in using appropriate analytical tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
