
Strategic Risk Governance Specialist

As a Senior Manager, you will lead the controls uplift agenda within Central Finance, focusing on non-financial risk monitoring and governance. Your responsibilities will include establishing effective finance risk governance forums, monitoring key risk indicators, supporting control owners with implementing policies and standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and leading process and control deep-dive reviews.
You will also assess issues for broader finance teams, collaborate with business unit integrated controls and monitoring teams, and implement control improvement projects, such as optimizing the financial reporting value chain. This role offers high-profile exposure to senior leaders at Macquarie and the opportunity to provide valuable insights to central finance stakeholders while working closely with key teams across the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Chartered accountant background with 7+ years experience in a financial institution
- Thorough understanding of activities within a finance function in a financial institution (financial reporting and regulatory reporting)
- Experience and/or exposure of risk and control advisory and governance roles
- Strong communication skills with solid stakeholder management and influencing skills, especially with senior stakeholders
- Confidence with presenting, memo and report writing to senior audiences
