About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector to join our team at Accoravillage. As a key member of our land development and municipal projects team, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction activities are carried out in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and municipal/provincial standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and municipal/provincial standards.
  • Verify that contractors' work meets applicable standards and regulations.
  • Advise contractors of any deficiencies or corrective actions required.
  • Record equipment and labor force on-site on a daily basis.
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants for specialty inspections and material testing as needed.
  • Conduct site meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Collect and maintain records of construction progress.
  • Assist in preparing requests for quotation, contract change orders, and invoices.
  • Verify quantities of work completed for payment purposes.
  • Review documentation provided by contractors, including traffic control plans, spills contingency plans, and construction staging plans.
Requirements
  • A College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant construction inspection experience.
  • C.E.T. certification or eligibility would be an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of contract drawings, tender documents, and design and construction standards.
  • Field experience working around heavy equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
