About the Role

Transport for NSW is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Construction Surveillance Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects are delivered in accordance with transport road specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Join the M6 Stage 1 project, a major infrastructure development delivering Sydney's deepest tunnels and providing southern Sydney with a vital connection to the Greater Sydney motorway network.
  • Make a significant impact on the transport network across Sydney by ensuring that construction projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to build engaging relationships and foster a culture of respectful communication between transport and its contractors.
  • Oversee drainage, earthworks, pavement, bridges, culverts, and retaining walls, ensuring that all works are completed to the highest standards.
  • Facilitate utility relocations on brownfield sites, ensuring that all works are completed safely and efficiently.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in civil infrastructure, ideally with an understanding of transport road specifications. You will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to read, understand, and ensure that engineering drawings are followed.

You will be confident in your understanding of site works and know when it is appropriate to stop works due to safety, quality, environmental, or other issues. Ideally, you will have experience working as a team leader or site supervisor, potentially developed from an operator or trades background.
