Expert Oncology Care Specialist

The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network provides expert clinical care, education and support to children and their families managed under the Oncology Outreach Service.

This is an exciting opportunity to extend and develop further interest, skills and experience working both autonomously and with the support of the oncology outreach team and wider oncology service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing consultancy and supportive focus in caring for these children and their families from rural and regional centres
  • Working in collaboration with the Oncology Regional CNC and the wider oncology multidisciplinary team
  • Assisting in the coordination of the clinical requirements for Rural and Regional oncology patients

Oncology experience is desirable. The successful applicant will be required to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the relevant clinical area of their post-registration qualification
  • Demonstrated evidence of advanced clinical practice in the specialty area
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities
  • A strong commitment to contribute to own and team professional development and act as a resource person and to mentor others within the specialty where required
