Job Description

Clinical Psychologist position available for a 0.4 FTE maternity leave contract at the Poche Centre, Wollstonecraft. The successful applicant will deliver evidence-based psycho-oncology care to melanoma patients and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and interventions addressing distress, emotional difficulties, and quality-of-life impairments across the cancer journey.
  • Contribute to education, staff support, and consultation on psychosocial issues in melanoma care.
  • Participate in clinical research and establish collaborative relationships with research and education pillars.
Essential Skills And Experience
  • Masters level or higher in psychology (recognised tertiary qualifications).
  • Full AHPRA registration with Clinical Psychology endorsement.
  • Knowledge and experience delivering evidence-based assessments and interventions in oncology or related health psychology field.
  • Flexibility in delivering interventions face-to-face, by telephone, and via videoconferencing.
  • Ability to provide training and education on psychological issues to staff.
  • Proven effectiveness in working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to suit the audience.
  • Experience in quality improvement and research, with a willingness to actively contribute to these initiatives.
Benefits

0.4 FTE maternity leave contract from late September 2025 to April 2026. Preference is for one working day to be Thursday, with the other day on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.
