Lead Clinical Oncology Expert

Job Role:

As a senior clinical oncology professional in the Medical Oncology Clinical Trials Unit, you will play a pivotal role in advancing cancer treatment and improving patient outcomes.

The unit is a leading center in cancer research, committed to driving innovation in oncology. With over 150 active trials, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative team working on cutting-edge projects.

  • Provide expert clinical care, oversight, education, and support to trial patients and their carers.

  • Oversee treatment workflows and develop clinical plans for trial participants.

  • Perform specialised oncology nursing procedures, such as chemotherapy infusion and cannulation.

  • Mentor and supervise research nurses, ensuring quality, compliance, and improvement in care.

  • Collaborate with clinical staff and Principal Investigators to coordinate care and assess new trial feasibility.

Key Requirements:

  • Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with a relevant regulatory body.

  • At least 5 years' full-time equivalent post-registration experience in Oncology Nursing.

  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical trial processes, patient care standards, and investigational therapies across various cancer types.

  • Strong leadership and ability to implement change and develop direction in clinical practice.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and exercise extended autonomy in decision making.
