Job Opportunity

The Director of Risk and Compliance will be responsible for crafting a risk management strategy, safeguarding the organisation, and protecting its stakeholders. This includes overseeing insurance placements, supplier relationships, and ensuring the organisation is well-protected.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team in defining the organisation's risk approach, planning, and response.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the executive team and the Board on initiatives that elevate risk maturity across the business.
  • Collaborate with brokers on renewals, placements, and claims to ensure the organisation is properly covered across all its services.
  • Strengthen governance and compliance frameworks, ensuring alignment with legislation and supporting decision-making from the front line to the Boardroom.
  • Maintain up-to-date policies that are consistent and practical for employees to follow.
  • Develop an incident response framework to ensure the right people know how to respond when issues arise.
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in risk management, law, or commerce.
  • Proven experience leading and implementing a risk and compliance function.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills with high levels of commerciality and pragmatism.
  • Ability to develop and lead a team while mentoring and driving continuous improvement.
  • Experience reviewing and enhancing policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Capability to translate strategic objectives into operational deliverables.
