Senior ICT Transition Manager

About the Role:

This is a senior-level position overseeing the transition of ICT services from an internal arrangement to a shared services model with another government department. As the ICT Transition Manager, you will be responsible for managing the project end-to-end, supporting a small in-house IT team, and ensuring continuity, security, and strategic alignment throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive ICT strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead the transition of ICT services to a shared services provider, ensuring value for money and service continuity.
  • Provide strategic advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with agency leaders to understand and deliver on technology needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage contracts and agreements related to ICT services.
  • Evaluate and ensure IT systems and data security, and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee daily operations of the ICT team, including staff and resource management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Financial Management (SFIA Level 4): Experience in monitoring financial records, budgeting, and financial reporting for ICT projects.
  • Project Management (SFIA Level 5): Proven ability to lead medium-scale ICT projects, manage risks, control changes, and deliver within scope, time, and budget.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management (SFIA Level 5): Strong communication and engagement skills with diverse stakeholder groups, including technical and non-technical audiences.
