Job Summary

The Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General seeks an experienced ICT project manager to lead the transition of ICT services from an internal arrangement to a shared services model.

This role requires strong project management skills, financial management skills, and stakeholder relationship management skills.

The successful candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of this complex transition ensuring continuity of services, value for money, and alignment with agency objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive ICT strategy that aligns with agency objectives.
  • Oversee and manage the transition of ICT services to the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS), ensuring continuity of services and a fit-for-purpose solution.
  • Provide strategic and considered advice to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business leaders across the agency to understand technology needs and requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within and between agencies, including negotiating and managing contracts and agreements.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff, providing guidance on technology matters.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in project management, financial management, and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience working in the Australian public sector and managing ICT transitions or shared service initiatives.
Working Arrangements

This role is fully onsite at Government House, Canberra, with standard hours of 7.5 hours per day.
