Job Title: Research Scientist in Glaucoma and Optic Nerve Protection

This is a 2-year fixed-term research role with the possibility of extension. As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will contribute to a project focused on optic nerve protection and glaucoma in rodent models.

About the Project

The Optic Nerve Research Team invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join their research program. The team has a strong track record of impactful research and publications in the field of ophthalmology and neuroscience.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline. Your expertise should include experience in glaucoma animal models, molecular analysis of retinal and optic nerve tissue, and retinal primary cell culture. You will also possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, as well as high-level organisational and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of research projects related to glaucoma and optic nerve protection
  • Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to achieve project aims
  • Undertake activities related to the conduct of quantitative research, including literature reviews and study protocols
  • Assist in administrative requirements of research project management
Selection Criteria
  • A PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline
  • Experience in glaucoma animal models and molecular analysis of retinal and optic nerve tissue
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • High-level organisational and time management skills
