Research Opportunities in Ophthalmology and Neuroscience

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a research project with the University of Sydney.

  • Work closely with a team of researchers to achieve project aims
  • Conduct quantitative research, including literature reviews and study protocols
  • Manage administrative requirements and coordinate data between teams

The role involves working on a project related to glaucoma, aging, and mitochondrial turnover, including lifestyle interventions to protect the optic nerve in rodent models.

Requirements:
  • PhD in a relevant field; experience in research evidence production
  • Strong interest in optic nerve protection; previous experience in retinal primary cell culture
  • Expertise in molecular analysis of retinal and optic nerve tissue
For Level B Research Fellow (in addition to the above)
  • PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline; expertise in glaucoma animal models
  • Experience with neuroinflammatory retinal processes; track record of impactful research and publications
