Job Summary:

As a CG Supervisor at ILM, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical development and implementation of visual effects projects, working closely with Producers and Discipline Leadership to maintain the highest technical standards and support the creative vision of the Director.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical development and implementation of visual effects projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with Producers and Discipline Leadership to forecast and assess material resources, including disk space, processors, software licenses, and artist machines.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline issues, including rendering, baking, slowness, publishing, and caching.
  • Work closely with other studio CG Supervisors to ensure pipeline and workflow parity between global teams.
  • Estimate disc space and rendering resources needed for projects.
  • Identify technical problems, bottlenecks, and workflow issues across disciplines and collaborate with supervisors and production to solve them.
  • Provide technical advice to VFX Supervisors on achieving aesthetic requirements in an efficient manner while maintaining high visual standards.
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Python, and shell scripting.
  • Ability to work with energy and enthusiasm within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Maya, Katana, Zeno, and Nuke is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Graphics (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of hands-on production experience.
