About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CG Supervisor to join our team at Industrial Light & Magic. As a CG Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading the technical direction of our visual effects projects, ensuring that all delivered shots meet the highest technical standards and support the creative vision of the Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical direction of visual effects projects, ensuring that all delivered shots meet the highest technical standards.
  • Collaborate with Producers and Discipline Leadership to ensure that all technical decisions support the creative vision of the Director.
  • Direct the work of artists, technical directors, and other team members to ensure that all technical requirements are met.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to complex problems, ensuring that they are efficient, effective, and meet the highest technical standards.
  • Work closely with other studio CG Supervisors to ensure pipeline and workflow parity between the global team.
  • Estimate disc space and rendering resources needed for projects, and collaborate with supervisors and production to solve technical problems.
  • Provide technical advice to VFX Supervisors on how to achieve aesthetic requirements in an efficient manner while maintaining the highest visual standard.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Python, and shell scripting.
  • Ability to work with energy and enthusiasm within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Desire to coach and mentor junior-level artists and lead others on huge shots or small sequences.
  • Familiarity with Maya, Katana, Zeno, and Nuke is a plus.
  • 5+ years of hands-on production experience.
