Job Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity to join the State Government of Victoria, Australia, as a Compliance Officer. As a key member of the energy division's compliance team, you will play a crucial role in delivering compliance and monitoring activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support and assist with the delivery of compliance and monitoring activities, projects, and stakeholder meetings.
  2. Research and Analysis: Undertake research, including both energy and legal research, and present it in a clear, concise, and articulate manner.
  3. Reporting and Correspondence: Arrange, prepare, and assist in the delivery of briefings, file notes, notices, and reports.
Position Details

This is a six-month fixed-term role, with the potential for further opportunity within the division. The Compliance Officer will support the energy division's compliance team in delivering its compliance and monitoring activities, including raising awareness of Victoria's energy laws, regulations, and rules, producing guidance, and influencing business compliance.

The role will contribute to compliance and monitoring activities by assessing potential regulatory breaches, drafting correspondence, developing compliance strategies, setting compliance priorities, and producing guidance for energy customers.

The Compliance Officer will also support and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across the energy division, liaising and responding to routine enquiries from external stakeholders, including energy businesses, consumer groups, and industry groups.
