Social Work Academic Field Placement Director

The role of a National Academic Lead Field Education is to guarantee quality field education placements that align with the Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards (ASWEAS). This encompasses designing, implementing, and reviewing all field education units, as well as fostering relationships with agencies and overseeing student placement performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing high-quality field education units that meet the standards of ASWEAS.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with industry partners to enhance student placement opportunities.
- Overseeing student placement performance and providing feedback to ensure students receive a quality learning experience.
- Providing support and resources to field education staff to aid in their roles.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be eligible for membership of the AASW.
- A minimum of five years post-qualifying practice experience in core areas of social work practice is required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to develop quality teaching materials are essential.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check are mandatory.
Additional Requirements:
- A doctoral qualification in Social Work or significant progress toward completion is preferred.
- Demonstrated scholarship/research track record is highly regarded.
- Experience in social work and/or community services placements is desirable.
